1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Akilah and I just celebrated our 1 year anniversary! We did this by using a gift certificate we received for our wedding to go rafting. We went with two other couples who are our really close friends and had a blast. We went down the Salmon River and at the end of the trip one of my friends bought us the cd of pictures for our anniversary gift :)

As you will notice in some of the picture I sort of had a problem staying on my seat. Every time we would go over the rapids I would fall into the bottom of the raft and just sit there laughing and not being of much help in paddling!

Akilah also battled his fear of heights and jumped into the river! His buddy had to use a little bit a peer pressure but he did jump and he loved it! Go Akilah!!

4th of July

Boating on July 4th was so much fun! We took two of our friends and one of them almost got up on skis! In fact she did get up for a second and rode and then fell :) It was amazing because it was her first time ever being on a boat and obviously her first time ever on water skis! 

Lyric LOVED the water. We got her out on the deck of the boat so she could stand and sit in the water. She loves being outside so it was really fun to take her on the boat. Boating is something I have always loved to do and now Akilah loves it too.. such a good feeling to know that Lyric had a fun time as well. She was smiling and would only sleep for a little bit because there was so much for her to take in :) She even likes the wind blowing in her face :)

3 months

This little snuggle bum is 3 months old this next week! She is such a wonderful baby and we are getting excited for Jen to take her 3 month pictures soon :) We surprised daddy with the bottom picture for father's day to put in his locker at work.

26th Birthday

Akilah surprised me with a fun pizza night with all of our Pocatello family!! We had pizza and ice cream cake, the boys played dominoes, and alllll of the girls went on a walk to the park. It was a very good day and fun night and I'm lucky to be surrounded by such great people.

A day and night of firsts

June 12 was a day and night of many happy and scary firsts for our little family... Lyric laughed for the first time, took her first ambulance ride, and had her first visit to the ER. The laugh was wonderful and the hospital was terrifying.

During the middle of the night Lyric was struggling to breath and get the gunk out of her throat from being sick. We couldn't get her to wake up while she was struggling and ended up calling 911. The paramedics helped so much but decided we needed to take her to the hospital to do a more in depth checkup and chest x-rays. They tested her for influenza and RSV and the tests thankfully came back negative. The chest x-rays also came back clear and they decided she just had a common cold. What was happening was she wasn't able to push the gunk out of her throat by herself and she was also struggling to swallow it, so it was all getting caught in her throat and making it hard for her to breath. 

She is breathing better now and only crying when we have to suck out her nose. We are being extra watchful over he and her pediatrician says she is on the road to recovery. It was so scary for Akilah and I and Akilah handled it like a champ. I rode in the ambulance with Lyric and Akilah followed us in the truck. Before he left the house he remembered to get her diaper bag and car seat! I am amazed at how collected he was able to stay through the whole thing. So grateful for him and that Lyric is such a strong little girl!

Lyric Overflow

You know I had to do a big post with all the Lyric pictures of the world! I love taking pictures of her and I hope she will like to look back through them when she's older! I love looking through family pictures when I go to my parents house. We will start with the daddy kiss pictures!

And we will finish with another picture of my dad sleeping with Lyric. Seems to be their favorite thing to do together :)

Lyric is still sleeping through the night (9pm - 6am), loving her baths, and earning the nickname Slobber Bomber! She is so strong and loves to stand up and take in the world. She has just found her hands and is starting to grab onto things. She still eats very well and loves to snuggle. We love to put her on her play mat and let her kick her feet around. GrandB and Grandpa are here!!!

Akilah's parents came this week to see Lyric for the first time! They leave today and I hope they had such a wonderful time snuggling their grand baby! We did a lot of fun things (house hunting, 2 bbqs, movie watching, relaxing) and Lyric sure loved having them to snuggle with. They gave her lots of love just like grandparents should and we will miss them when they are gone. Luckily we get to see them again in August and then in December!

While they were here they got to hear Lyric laugh for the first time!
