Sad Face

I have been trying to get Lyric to start making the sounds I make. There is one she hates as you will see in the picture and video :) She consistently makes this pouty, sad face when I make this sound!

Here is the video of me trying to get her to make the sound:

Lyric Pictures!

Colorado Trip

This last weekend my family (minus Akilah because of work) traveled to Colorado for my Aunt's wedding! It was such a good weekend and I had a good time catching up with all of my family. Lyric did such a wonderful job on the car ride to Colorado and back (7 hour trip one way) and slept great while we were there too. It was so fun as a mom to get to show off our baby and have everyone coo over her! Lyric did a great job while we were there and was such a trooper at constantly being thrown off her schedule.

We started our weekend on Saturday with a big breakfast at my Grandma's house, followed by most of the family playing golf, and some of us hanging at my aunt's house catching up with the kids.

The Rose Sisters                                                                 Grandma (lyric loved her voice)

 Great Grand Kids

Later on Saturday evening we all had a dinner together before the big day!

Looking at her birdie!

Watching the game

On Sunday we got up and went to church for my Aunt's wedding!
It was a beautiful wedding and such a happy, short ceremony!

My dad and Lyric sleeping while the girls got ready for the wedding :)

WEDDING TIME!

Brandon being honored on for his service to our country!
Children's Time. I love Children's Time in church and I hope as Lyric grows we can find a church like this in Pocatello or wherever we live. When I was little growing up in a Methodist church we use to have Children's Time. The Pastor calls all the children up to the front and does a simplified lesson for the children on what he will be speaking about in church that day. After the lesson the children either go back to sit with their parents or go to the nursery!

Lesson on the unity in marriage. He had a local artist come in and create this Male and Female out of clay as he was giving his lesson.

After the wedding my family went back to my grandparents house to relax for bit before heading on to the after party!

Time for the After Party!!!! There were a lot of people at the after party, which was held at my Aunt's house. It was such a good time, the weather was nice, and the people were wonderful. I took a lot of pictures of everyone drinking from the Porron, but I won't post them all here :) Lyric slept for most of the party and of course woke up right when it was time to eat dinner.

Drink up in the celebration of marriage! The bottle they are holding up is called a Porron. It resembles a cross between a wine bottle and a watering can. The top of the bottle is narrow and can be sealed off with a cork. Stemming upwards from the bottom of the pitcher is a spout that gradually tapers off to a small opening. It is shaped such that the wine stored inside it will have minimal contact with the air, while being ready to be used at all times. (Taken from Wikipedia!)

We had such a wonderful trip to Colorado and I love my Rose family very very much! I am also happy my aunt married such a wonderful guy and we got an awesome new cousin out of the marriage too!

On our way home Lyric decided to have major spit up problems, stay away for most of the trip, and have one MEGA blowout haha

She also has been given the nickname of Slobber Bomber like her dad was called when he was a little baby!

This little girl got to spend the morning with mom at work! It was fun to have her with me and I think everyone else in the office enjoyed it too :) She was a good little baby and slept a little bit of the time and snuggled the rest. On Friday's Lyric goes to our friends house while Akilah and I work. Unfortunately, our friend's little boy had strep throat so her house was a no go! Fortunately, I have an amazing boss who is kind enough to let me bring Lyric when I need to!

Growing up!

I wanted to do a comparison each month of how she is changing. Below is a newborn picture, 1 month picture and her 2 month picture!

2 month pictures

Daddy was in charge of 2 month pictures while I was at work and
he did such a wonderful job with them!
I love all of the faces she makes while he is taking the pictures!

It looks like she is karate chopping in this picture! Really she is probably falling over :)

Then I decided to take a couple more pictures to match her 1 month pictures!
At two months Lyric is really starting to get a little personality. She is mostly happy, sleeps through the night, and hates to take naps for dad during the day! She likes to have her alone time where she is just in her crib or on her play mat and has a set of lungs on her when she is getting tired! She is eating about 5 oz when she eats from her bottle and it seems everyone loves to feed her! I am still breastfeeding and it has become one of my favorite times with her!
